Family portraits are very important to me as a photographer. I remember the summer I got to spend with my great aunt, Zia Nardine in Monopoli, Italy. She was the most incredible woman that I knew. I use to carry around a medium format camera whenever I would visit my aunt in Italy. My great aunt passed away a few years ago but as I reflect on this portrait that I took of my aunt, I savor moments of silence and family.
